The Sligo FRC ran two parenting programmes with HSE Health

Promotion Unit Fás Le Chéile

programme in the Spring 2008. These were Raising Boys for

Fathers and Raising Girls For Parents

Many parents at this stated that the two evenings were too short. We are now putting on a programme for fathers to run over four nights to allow more time to discuss some of the issues parents want to discuss.

Topics to be covered will include:

· Encouraging your children

· Listening to your child

· Talking with your child

· Managing challenging behaviour

· Peer pressure

· Mobile phone and internet use — the challenges
